Access to electricity remains a major challenge in many rural and off-grid communities in Rwanda, hindering both educational progress and the delivery of quality healthcare services. Schools are unable to adopt modern teaching tools, while health facilities struggle to preserve essential medicines and operate basic diagnostic equipment. The absence of reliable electricity also limits administrative efficiency and slows overall community development. To address these challenges, the Energy Private Developers Association (EPD) proposes the implementation of a clean, reliable, and sustainable solar energy system to electrify one school and one health center located in an off-grid region of Rwanda. This project directly supports Rwanda’s national objectives to expand rural electrification and promote renewable energy as a sustainable solution for development.
