Ministry of Environment

The Ministry of Environment is the coordinating institution of Environment and Natural Resources Sector in Rwanda. It was established to ensure development of the environment. It must also ensure the safeguard of green and climate resilient for growth of the economy and ensure optimal and rational utilisation of Water Resources, Lands and Forests for sustainable national development

The mission of REMA is to supervise and monitor environmental management and ensure that issues relating to environment receive attention in all national development plans.

RDB

Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is a government institution, mandated to accelerate Rwanda’s economic development by enabling private sector growth. Under the supervision of the Office of the President, RDB is governed by the Board of Directors made up of global entrepreneurs and experts. RDB was established in 2008 out of a merger of 8 government institutions, primarily to create a One Stop Shop for business and investments. Since then, RDB has been built with global expertise and modelled on international best practice. Currently, RDB’s key services are: One Stop Center services (business and investment registration, visa facilitation, EIA, tax incentives management, etc.), Investment Promotion, Investment Deals Negotiation, Export & SEZ Development, Tourism and Conservation, and Private Sector Skills Development. RDB is here to provide support throughout the entire investment journey and to ensure that Rwanda remains one of the most competitive places to do business in Africa and the World.


RSB

In the present environment of increased globalization, empirical evidence suggests that standardization and its conformity assessment companions have a very important role to play in technological progress, health, safety, environmental protection, quality promotion, productivity and trade promotion. It is where originated the initiative of the Rwandan Government to establish Quality Infrastructures in the vision of supporting the achievement of the set strategic development goals and among others the Rwandan Quality Infrastructure. Rwanda Standards Board is a Government institution that was created in 2002 with the overall mission of providing standards based solutions for trade promotion and consumer protection.


PSF

The Private Sector Federation (PSF) has registered major successes since its creation in 1999. Beyond a strong brand and membership base, PSF pioneered Business Development Services (BDS), registered wins in advocacy and played a strong national, regional and International role.


RCB

Rwanda is a country known for its breathtaking scenery, often referred to as the land of a thousand hills. The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) ranks Rwanda as the second most popular country, and Kigali as the second most popular city in Africa for hosting international conferences and events (2023). Rwanda’s popularity as a preferred MICE destination streams from its simplified visa process that allows nationals of every country in the world to get a visa on arrival in addition to its easy accessibility, due to the multitude of flight options offering connectivity to Kigali and the rest of Africa through the national carrier Rwandair. Furthermore, the presence of the range of world-class MICE venues such as the Kigali Convention Centre, the Kigali Conference, and Exhibition Village, Intare Conference Arena, and the newly opened Bk Arena continue to enhance Rwanda as a top MICE destination.

REJ

To increase the coverage of environmental issues in the media in Rwanda and to enhance the capacity of Rwandan journalists to report on environmental issues through workshops, networking, information sharing, and institutional development.


REG

The Government of Rwanda has undertaken reforms in the energy and water sector which have been concretized by the separation of energy from water operations. The main objectives being; to have sector focused and efficient operations; attract more investment; improve planning and accountability; and increase access to services by the population to drive sector performance towards the targets envisaged in the EDPRS II and other national goals.


EDCL

The Energy Utility Corporation Limited (EUCL) was incorporated to have devoted attention in providing energy utility services in the Country through operations and maintenance of existing generation plants, transmission and distribution network and retail of electricity to end-users. In executing its mandate, the Company will strive to achieve;


University of Rwanda

The University of Rwanda (UR) is a public Higher Learning Institution established by the law n° 71/2013 of 10/09/2013. In 2013, the National University of Rwanda (NUR) founded in 1963 together with other six public higher learning institutions were merged to form the University of Rwanda (UR). UR is governed by the Board of Governors and an Academic Senate, with staff and student representation, along with the Vice Chancellor who is the University’s Chief Executive Officer. UR is organized under a collegiate model with 6 Colleges.

IPRC TUMBA
